“Second Life” Farewell Apron 🪡

created with textile artist Tian Qing Yen

Handcrafted for a dear friend moving away, this piece was repurposed from a beautiful tapestry she had given away.

Overnight, we secretly transformed the fabric into a custom cross-back apron (with pockets!) to honor her herbalist spirit and the many adventures we’d shared in the kitchen.

Unveiled as a surprise at her farewell gathering, it became both gift and ritual, sparking stories and hopes for the new chapter ahead. Reborn from a discarded tapestry, this apron represents how love reincarnates from one season to the next.
