Videographer & Interviewer

Found (2021)

Available on Netflix, this documentary follows the emotional journey of three adoptees who travel back to China in hopes of finding their birth families, after DNA tests reveal them to be cousins.

Directed by Amanda Lipitz and produced by the team behind THE FAREWELL in partnership with genealogy firm My China Roots.

As the head of multimedia storytelling at MCR, I worked closely with Liuhao – the lead researcher tasked with finding their birth families – to document her investigation and nurture her confidence to express herself on-camera, conducting interviews and filming her research journey in Beijing and Guangzhou. Witnessing her blossom and forge close bonds with the adoptees was the most rewarding part of the process!

Sanctuary Without Borders (2020)

A window into the sanctuary church movement, this short documentary follows an undocumented father’s fight to reunite with his family in North Carolina.

In memory of Samuel Oliver-Bruno, who passed away in 2021 from brain injuries sustained following his inhumane deportation to Mexico. Holding grief and gratitude as his community came together to raise over $20,000 for his medical care.

If you feel compelled to help support his surviving wife and son, they are open to receiving donations. Thank you ❤

Vlogging

v(logs) from liminal space

The original Chrysalis Chronicles! This vlogging series began in 2018, when I had a quarter-life identity crisis and moved to China to explore my roots. A (home)coming-of-age adventure across oceans of love + language, food + friendship, departures + returns.

From Colombia to China, I’ve had the joy of capturing families, artists, and innovators in their element.
